Our Story

FROM THE VERY BEGINNING

The story of Renda Motorsport begins with Antonio Renda’s genuine passion for motorsport. In 1981, at just six years old, Antonio received the gift that would change his life — a Kaly Kart fitted with a Comer S60 engine, given to him by his father and grandfather. From that moment, an extraordinary journey began, one that would make him one of the most recognised figures in Italian and international karting.

Through the 1980s, Antonio grew as a competitor in the categories that wrote the history of Italian karting: from 60 Mini Kart to the legendary Comer S and K60 classes, then on to 100 Italia, 100 Nazionale, and finally Formula A — at the time, the pinnacle of world karting.

INTO CAR RACING

In 1993, Antonio took on a new challenge, joining Motorsport 2C. After his karting years he moved successfully into car racing — first in hillclimb events, then behind the wheel of a high-performance Renault 5 GT Turbo. Here too he achieved important results, winning races and taking numerous podiums in the Coppa Italia and the Italian Championships.

RENDA MOTORSPORT IS BORN

In 1997, having just completed his military service, Antonio turned his experience into a sporting and entrepreneurial project. Renda Motorsport was founded in Capua, his home town. From its earliest years the team established itself as one of the most competitive outfits on the national scene, claiming regional titles and Italian championships in quick succession — and through constant technical development and a talent for nurturing young drivers, it grew rapidly into a benchmark in international karting.

GOING INTERNATIONAL

From the early 2000s, Renda Motorsport became a permanent fixture among the leading teams in world karting. Under Antonio Renda’s guidance, some of the most important drivers in the shifter categories were developed. Names who have raced and won with the team include Paolo De Conto, Jérémy Iglesias, Pedro Hiltbrand, Simo Puhakka, Felice Tiene, Davide Forè and Anthony Abbasse — among many others.

INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS

Over the years, Renda Motorsport has claimed wins and titles in some of the most prestigious competitions in the world: the Andrea Margutti Trophy, the WSK Final Cup, the Trofeo delle Industrie and the Rok Cup International Final. The team reached the very top of the sport, winning the FIA Karting KZ2 Masters World Championship in 2023 with Davide Forè, and again in 2024 with Anthony Abbasse — who also took the European title that same year.

THE PRESENT AND THE FUTURE

Today, Renda Motorsport remains one of the most competitive and respected structures in international karting, competing in the major FIA Karting and WSK championships. Drivers such as Marijn Kremers, Maximilian Schleimer, Alex Maragliano, Sem Knopjes and Genis Civico represent the team’s present and future. After almost thirty years, the same philosophy still drives the team: passion, technical expertise and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
